On May 1st 2021 we came together for a day of Equality, Photography, Art and Community.

We asked people of all different races, religions, and sexual preferences to come get their portraits

taken, share their stories and unite with one another. Below you will find images of everyone who

participated in our day of Equality and some perspectives on why Equality is so important.

Huge thank you and shout-out to:

Jackii Ramis & Naomi Jackson: Thank you for designing and creating the bandanas we used

to generate donations for The Fund for Global Human Rights, and for the community

to use for their photos! They came out so awesome!

used for the portraits. You did an incredible job!

Why is Equality important to you?

Because of the pursuit of the Golden Rule (the principle of treating others as one wants to be treated)

What was your biggest motivation in coming today?

Self care

Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?

Many of times

What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?

Respect and growth within humanity

Jackii Ramis (she/her)

Why is Equality important to you?

Because everyone deserves to feel good about who they are!

What was your biggest motivation in coming today?

To bring smiles, make friends, and to raise money for charity.

Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?

Yes, and it left a horrible feeling in my gut.

What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?

I hope for the same thing for the future of every country- acceptance of all people- all genders, sexual orientations, and

celebration of different cultures. People are so unique, and have so many different experiences. That’s the beauty of life.

Mickey (pizzaboy)

Why is Equality important to you?

Equality would be the foundation of a society. Equality means discrimination wouldnt exist. Social class would be solely

that rather than a heirarchy. Equality means I wouldn't have to fear or worry for my child when I am no longer able.

What was your biggest motivation in coming today?

To take care of the people that take care of me . I want to see what sucess looks like.

Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?

Thats life I won't play victim to it . If I never experienced prejudice ,the need for GROWTH would probably

never been incited within me. I will always wake up african american , life will be what I make it.

What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?

Equality

Sonya LaTorre (she/her)

Why is Equality important to you?

Everyone deserves happiness and to be able to live the life they want. None of us are better or more important than anyone

else and we need to treat everyone as such. No one deserves to be treated unfairly or differently because of who they are as

person. God made us all in His image and He loves us all equally. The world as a whole should strive to do the same.

We are all special. We are all beautiful. And we all deserving of love.

What was your biggest motivation in coming today?

To spread love and make others feel welcomed and heard.

Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?

I’ve been bullied a lot in my life, but I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve never really had to encounter

any kind of prejudice against me because of any of those reason.

What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?

I mainly just hope we can all start loving each other more. Everyone is always judging others on things that shouldn’t matter

at all. I hope that in the future we can come together as a people and treat others the way they deserve to be treated.

Yes.

Less hate, and more love.
