On May 1st 2021 we came together for a day of Equality, Photography, Art and Community.
We asked people of all different races, religions, and sexual preferences to come get their portraits
taken, share their stories and unite with one another. Below you will find images of everyone who
participated in our day of Equality and some perspectives on why Equality is so important.
Huge thank you and shout-out to:
Jackii Ramis & Naomi Jackson: Thank you for designing and creating the bandanas we used
to generate donations for The Fund for Global Human Rights, and for the community
to use for their photos! They came out so awesome!
Sonya Latorre: Thank you for making the beautiful background we
used for the portraits. You did an incredible job!
Jill Bellovin & Universe City: Thank you so much for welcoming us and providing a space for the event!

Jackii Ramis (she/her)
Why is Equality important to you?
Because everyone deserves to feel good about who they are!
What was your biggest motivation in coming today?
To bring smiles, make friends, and to raise money for charity.
Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?
Yes, and it left a horrible feeling in my gut.
What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?
I hope for the same thing for the future of every country- acceptance of all people- all genders, sexual orientations, and
celebration of different cultures. People are so unique, and have so many different experiences. That’s the beauty of life.

Why is Equality important to you?
Equality would be the foundation of a society. Equality means discrimination wouldnt exist. Social class would be solely
that rather than a heirarchy. Equality means I wouldn't have to fear or worry for my child when I am no longer able.
What was your biggest motivation in coming today?
To take care of the people that take care of me . I want to see what sucess looks like.
Was there ever a time where you were treated unfairly because of race, sexual preference, or religion?
Thats life I won't play victim to it . If I never experienced prejudice ,the need for GROWTH would probably
never been incited within me. I will always wake up african american , life will be what I make it.
What do you hope for when it comes to the future of this country?
Equality
